Friday Reading: Luke 12:1-5

5 But I will warn you of whom you shall fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yea, I say to you, fear Him.
Devotion:
When we stand up to do anything for The Lord we will undoubtedly face people who will do their uttermost to pull us down or to try and distract others away from what we are doing; after all, why should we get all the attention when they can get some! Most of the time we will look at others like that, just annoyances that are trying to get attention, but let us not forget just who is the one behind what they do, who is the one that is encouraging them to do what they do... The evil one, Satan.
The more people try to fight against the Word of God the more they will find that their lies and their ways are exposed by the truth that is God’s Word. The more people try to discourage us away from it the more we will be encouraged by the fallacies that they stand for! Unfortunately for us ,most people listening will not yet know Christ as their Saviour and will be discouraged by those very same words because they will spread like mould through a fruit bowl, hidden but quickly and not nice to look upon when it is exposed!
These are not the people we have to be afraid of because all they can do is make our lives on earth different. Yes they can do all manner of things to us that will not make our lives pleasant, but that is all they can do; for when we get to face Christ after our lives are over on earth we will be facing an eternity of peace and grace unlike our adversaries who will be facing an eternal death. They cannot hide behind their lies once they face Christ. They cannot hide behind anyone else because they will face Christ themselves and will have to answer to Him alone. I thank God that Christ is the one looking after my soul for eternity.
