Sunday Reading: Psalm 145:15-18

Key Verse: Psalm 145:18
18  The LORD is near all those who call on Him, all those who call on Him in truth.

Devotion:
If there is one thing that we can learn from reading our bibles it is that God continues to look after us. Right from the beginning we are shown just how much God is willing to do for us when we are following His will in our lives. His promise to continue doing so when we do follow Him continues to stand now as it did back then and we can depend on that promise. We do not have to wait until we are faced with hardship or even war to call on God because we can call on Him all the days of our lives. He is not just there for times when we cannot cope but there for times when we think we can cope as well; because when we think we can cope we let our guard down and then ultimately let Him down too.

When we turn to depend on Him totally, that is when we see just how wonderful and glorious our God is; that is when we see just how much He is willing to do for us. It is not Him waiting for us to be in trouble, but Him waiting for us to call on His name no matter what we are up to. Can you imagine how you would feel if your friends did not look you up until they were in trouble? Can you imagine how splintered your relationships would be if your partner kept on running off until they got into trouble? God is not a safety net, not a safety line but someone we should depend on for all things in our lives.

When our bibles tell us that God is righteous, holy and just in all His ways we can know that no matter what we bring to Him we will get the right answer; that answer may not be what we want to hear if we do not walk in His ways but you can be certain that it will be right! God will never turn His back on us. God will never lie to us. God will never show us the wrong way. God is always there! If this is not enough to convince you that He is our God then you must be the one to experience what He can do for you too because when you know Him He will show you how much you mean to Him!

Points to Ponder:
What do you look for in life?

Is God central to your life?
