Saturday Reading: Psalm 31:3

Key Verse: Psalm 31:3
3  For You are my rock and my fortress; and for Your name's sake lead me and guide me.

Devotion:
When you pray do you ask for the unknown or do you ask Christ for things that you know He would support? Well, the more that we get to know about other people and the more that we get to know them the more that we are able to see when things are going wrong or are going right. The same can be said about us getting to know God because whilst we are in a position where we do not know about Him we are doing all manner of things wrong without knowing. But when we get to know Him and His ways then He is able to start pointing out the things that we are doing wrong. That is what we would expect from a friend and that is what we must expect from God.

He will not stand idly by and allow you to continue breaking His laws forever because there will be a time when He has had enough and will bring your escapades to a stop! None of us like to get into trouble but because we do do things wrong we will get into trouble at some stage, whether it is physically or spiritually we will find out the hard way that we are doing things wrong! The best way to avoid this in the beginning is to ask for the right advice up front so that we can know what we should be doing!

We get instruction manuals with appliances so that we can know how to use them without breaking them or us! It is wise to follow those instruction manuals to make sure that things stay safe. So why should we treat our lives any differently? Why should we ignore the One who has created us? Why should we ignore His instructions that He has already give us and those that He wants to continue giving to us each and every day? That would just be stupid to ignore the instructions, wouldn’t it? We all like to have a go at things before getting to grips with the instruction manuals, but you do have to admit that it is a whole lot better to read the manual first... God is our Rock; the unmoveable part of our lives. He is our safe place. He is our guide. He is the only way.

Points to Ponder:
Do you follow instruction books?

Are you listening to God?
