Tuesday Reading: 1 John 3:1-2

Key Verse: 1 John 3:2
2  Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He shall be revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Devotion:
No matter what wondrous things we can dream up in our minds there is nothing that can compare to reality! We can think of all manner of fantastic things but when we actually take a closer look at the reality of this world we should be awe-struck. What then can we hope for in Christ when we finally get to meet Him face to face? Boy what a day that will be when we can finally put aside the theories, dreams and thoughts and our faith will go from being hope to being reality. Personally I cannot wait to see what amazing things will be there for us!

The most amazing thing for us is that we can be called children of God. Not everyone can because not everyone is willing to call God their true Father, but for those of us who have already accepted Him as Saviour, King and Father, we stand before Him as expectant children wondering what is going to be in store for us this time round. Have you ever thought of that? As a child you expect every day to give you more and you expect every day to bring forth some new surprise. When we grow up we then lose that expectancy and instead start to wonder when things are going to stop!

We are children of God. We should never expect anything to stop. We should be raising our hope each day looking for what God has in store for us and expecting the very best. We know that He loves us and we know that He can do anything. Why should we then expect anything less that the best? God is awesome and the sooner we all get to realise that and depend on that the better our walk will be with Him and hence the better our lives will be. As our Father He continues to want the very best for us and He continues to give us guidance and encouragement to be better children. What kind of a father would He be is He were not to make us the best that we can be? Trust Him. Listen to Him. Father knows best!

Points to Ponder:
Do you look up to your father?

Do you trust God as you trust your father?
