Friday Reading: Romans 1:16-17

Key Verse: Romans 1:17
17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Devotion:
One thing that may well stop and make you think whether you are ready to go out and tell others about Christ is whether you would think of yourself as being ashamed in any way. I’m not talking about telling others that you are ashamed that you are a Christian but simply being able to step forward and say “Yes I am a Christian and I love Jesus Christ!” If others are going to reject you because you dare to say such things, or if they will exclude you because you admit to being a Christian, then that is their choice to ignore God and to ignore the truth. Being able to stand up and continue on with your walk with God is what counts after that – because if you give in and turn back to your own ways then they will immediately turn back to you and say “I told you it wasn’t real” or some other such things.

We have to continue on steadfastly – that means making sure that we continue to tell others and show others the truth. That means standing up for Christ and not following on in Peter’s footsteps to deny Christ. Yes it may well be hard for you the first few times, but after you realise that there is nothing to be ashamed of and that Christ has completed it all for us, then you too will be able to make a stand and show others that Christ is real!

No we cannot see pictures of Him because cameras were not invented back then. No we cannot listen to recordings of His voice and the way He talked… But we do have His Word in front of us, the very Word that He promised to make sure that we all got to hear about, the very Word that is able to stand up to any court should they wish to try and prove or disprove it. God’s Word is sure and it is something we can stand on throughout everything. If you need something to stand on then make sure that you are standing firm on God’s Word because it has stood the test of time for thousands of years and will continue to stand firm throughout time!

We need to stand by the truth and uphold that truth. That means looking into it, learning it, accepting it as the truth and then doing two very important things with that truth. Firstly making sure that we tell other about it so that they can hear the truth that we know and love; secondly, and just as important – to live by that truth!

Points to Ponder:
Are you living God’s Word?

Are you turning your back on Christ?
