Saturday Reading: Psalm 1:1-6

Key Verse: Psalms 1 6
6  For Jehovah knows the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Devotion:
When you read some verses like this, they just make common sense... Not just for Christians, Christianity and Godliness, but in every day life. Do things right and you will get it right. Do things wrong and don't expect to see anything happen the way it should! If we are given something that we have to build ourselves, such as a model car or plane, we have to follow the instructions of how to put it together so that it looks right at the end. If we just start sticking things together without caring where we place them, we will not get anything that resembles the picture on the box! Common sense needs to be applied in life wherever we go and whatever we do. We need to take notice of the things that we do and make sure we do them right!

Common sense also needs to be applied to our Christian lives. God has given us the scriptures to learn from. He has given us the whole bible so that we can learn the truth. He has given us all the instructions we need – we just need to follow them! You may be saying, well it's not just about doing what is right... No, it's not just about doing what is right in our earthly view on life. It's about doing what is right in the sight of God. God has given us instructions for us to follow Him and to live our lives according to His Word. That includes doing the right things in earthly terms, but it also includes doing the right thing in spiritual terms.

We need to make sure that our lives are full of thoughts of Him. That way we will always have Him in our thoughts. With Him always in our thoughts we will be able to remember more of the things that He wants us to be doing. We will be able to concentrate on doing what is right in His eyes rather than just our own! When we think more about Him, we will be able to think more like Him and do things right in His eyes. It's all about His glory, not ours!

Points to Ponder:
Do you think you are a good person?

What do you think God would think about your thoughts?
