Key Verse: Isaiah 53:4

Devotion:
The Life of Jesus.
Yesterday our Messiah was killed before our own eyes. I know there are many who seem to be happy that this man was killed for daring to say that He was the Son of God, but how can they not see that this man was telling us the truth? The words of our great prophet Isaiah keep coming back to me and I fear may haunt me for a long time to come. This man did not do anything wrong. This man came to tell us the truth. And yet we did not even consider that He may even be telling us the truth; instead we rejected Him.
Jesus. A man born of a virgin. Raised by two human parents. Lived and learned as a human but was so much more. He taught us. He cared for us. He healed many. He saved many. He did not do anything wrong. There was no sin in Him. There was no guile in Him.
We are the ones that deserve what He had to put up with. We are the ones who have done things wrong. We are the ones who have not begged God for forgiveness for everything that we have done wrong. And still Jesus did not complain once about what God allowed to happen. We chose to reject Him. We chose our sin instead.
I pray that my God Jehovah will grant me just a little of the grace that He has allowed Jesus to show when it comes time for me to go to be with God. I dared not go to the temple for fear of what others would say and do because I know that I would have stood up for Jesus – why did I not do it then?
Points to Ponder:
Would you stand up for an innocent man?
What do you think God thinks of your for choosing sin instead?
